I got 2 free from a friend who got 12 in a bag of crap.

i love em. put rockbox on there and play doom or solitaire, or asteroids, or soduku, or any number of games all day. plays music and movies of course, but the games are more fun to me.

I'm in for one. Does anyone know if there are any good speakers in which to dock one of these puppies into? They seem to make all the good accessories for Ipods, does this mp3 player dock into a Bose music system?

There is a Griffin Dock that can hook to anything that takes a mini plug.

There is a Timex clock radio that is fairly good.

Agreed.... These are great alternatives to the "IPops". Both audio and video is clear and smooth. Rockbox is better than the software it comes flashed with, IMO. I currently use the 8gb unit with a 2gb micro-sd card. The only downfall is that video files are converted (With included software or use your own) and played in quicktime .mov format (Weak compression, Hence bigger file size), which splits them into many segments, The larger the video the more segments.

I've purchased several of these "Refurbs", 6 in all. 2 for myself and the others as gifts to family members. Not a single unit has failed. Despite what others say, The letters REFURB on the rear of the unit are just heavy foil stickers that can be removed easily with a new razor blade and tiny spec of dish detergent (If the word bothers you).

I would not hesitate to purchase another if/when needed.

#5, There are docks for these out there, Not as abundant vs the IPOD, But there. I myself use a stereo jack to male component in on my home theater unit and the same for the aux input on the surround sound in the bedroom. Battery life is excellent when simply listening to audio files (LCD not lit), 2 complete nights of audio before recharging (You can keep it charging though as It will play on the charger as well). I use a 12v lighter to USB charger for the car. I've also dropped them quite a bit, from as high as 5ft and they still function fine. You may want to invest in a screen protector and/or custom case/rubber sleeve to better protect it from everyday wear & tear.

Note: The newer version of these are even slimmer and accept the latest Micro-SDHC cards that allow more storage. Some report that rockbox on these will allow for SDHC use, But I have none to test that theory with.

Apple Computers announced today that it has developed a computer chip that can store and play music in women's breast implants.

The iBoob will cost between $499 and $599.

This is considered to be a major breakthrough because women are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening to them.
Thanks to Apple, everyone is now happy.

if the unit gets warm from sitting in your pocket or on a monitor, the letters literally just slide off. I did that to both my units cause I was bored.

Then I took the letters and made anagrams on my monitor at work. Wink

Woot took about 7 days the last time I ordered a refurb'd Sansa. The version 1 players will accept SDHC cards if you put rockbox on 'em.

I can't pin down a failure rate but the refurb'd ones do often have issues, maybe 20% of the time. Some places make you send them to the refurb company, others take them back directly (newegg for example).

#9, I have the 2GB verison of this player and, after installing Rockbox, an 8GB micro SD card works fine with it.

I have the 8gb version from Woot last month. Also picked up the Timex clock radio/Sansa dock on Sellout.woot. This unit is awesome for my use. I keep it on my work desk and listen to music all day.

Anyone use Rhapsody service for downloads? I have been using legalsounds.com but their selection is very limited however the price is right @ .09 per song. I also have a Zune which is great but I don't like paying $15 month to Microsoft for limited "use" of their music.
