I have the 2 gig version (refurbed) and it works awesome. Even the videos you put on it look good; i bought that for 20 bucks from woot about a year ago.

Note that if the model you get isn't a revision 2 which will have a little V2 on the back you can install the Rockbox alternative firmware. This dramatically increases the file types the player will play as well as includes some fun little games and finally it adds awesome audio book support.

You can get rockbox from: http://www.rockbox.org/

Wow, it supports microSD, so you can upgrade it into a SIX GB player.

Expanding it with micro SDHC is the way to go. With Rockbox you can use SDHC cards and get some decent capacity.

Keep in mind that while microSD support is good to have, it will drain the battery faster with a card in it than if you had e2xx series with larger memory chip inside.

My wife and I have used these for almost two years. No problems! Battery charge lasts plenty long, even with SD card.

Not a bad deal. Two weeks ago, Woot had the 2 GB for $35.

mine actually crashed and never worked again, of course there was no warranty on it... I called sansa and told them I bought it from Amazon, send them some pictures of it (after removing the refurbished stickers) in couple weeks got new player that works great and much faster than the first one. So there is a reason for them selling refurbished ones so cheap...

the word 'refurbished' is actually stamped into the metal, so keep in mind if giving as gift
