      maybe it's just me, but i have NEVER seen this player sold as "New." Who breaks and returns these so the company can sell them as refurbished?

      #1 it is odd. You only hear good things about the player and hardly hear any complaints about the reliability of the player and yet we see it selling refurbished all the time. I for one is a happy owner.

      If you update with the latest firmware on this junk you'll brick it. FACT!

      @lu_morning

      I wasn't complaining. I have this also and it does rock... you can even put rockbox on it for more rockage! I'm just saying that I usually only see it sold as refurb.

      @m0f0

      i updated with latest firmware and it isn't bricked. it did lock up once when I didn't disconnect it properly, but once the batteries ran out, it was alright.

      I have ne and it's been great for a couple of years. Paid about $100 for it new and it's been totally worth it. Rockbox and an 8GB micro sdhc card make it even better.

      I paid about $48 for mine new, I highly recommend it. Great little player that accepts transflash... now microSD cards. Also picks up FM radio.

      All of the refurbs seemed to have had a V1 chipset. Models with a V2 chipset were sold. The e200 series has been discontinued according to the Sansa website.

      I returned a 4GB Sansa clip, two days ago. Bought it new. It lasted exactly 3 weeks. It'll soon be one of the "refurbished" ones.

      I've had two of the e250 "refurb" and I can't find an issue with either one. Sansa makes a helluva good player for the money.
