This seems to be new not refurbished. A decent price with expandability via Micro SD. Up to 2GB if 1st gen firmware. Or you can Rockbox it to get it to read SDHC cards. I read that the 2nd gen are not compatible with RB, but can read SDHC out of the box.
I got the 8GB version refurbed for 50 and just ordered 2 new ones for 54.99 ea. I am wondering which version the new ones will be (and they are OOS now).
I have not changed software on the refurb. You can find refurb 8GB for around 50 frequently. The refurbs are like new also, just in a plain box and 90 day warr instead of a year.

Why buy this when you can buy a Fuze?

@3 the specs say they only take a 2 GB memory card -- you did good.

when you Rockbox something like this, does it loose it's "Rhapsody-to-go" capabilities?

I recently purchase two of this after reading the reviews. Easy to use and affordable than an Apple MP3 player.

#5 rockbox it. You can handle much larger sizes than 2gb.

I highly recommend micro sd slots on mp3 players - like this one has. I have 2 other creative sansa players, and they're pretty good, but quality and controls aren't as good as ipods. still a great choice for budget mp3 players!

Great price on a great player. I bought the 6 gig refurb for $40; this is an even better deal.

No mp3 player's included headphones are good. Always buy better third party headphones for a superior experience.

Compact size fits nicely into your palm. You do need a screen protector because the screen scratches easily. Gets 10 hours use on a single cahrge. Nothing but praise for this unit and I can figure why it is no longer manufactured.
