Lock-ups and bugs included FREE! Windows "Play 4 Sure, Maybe" oppressive DRM included FREE! How can you go wrong???
New firmware is out for the e200 series.
#1, I have the e260, and after the firmware upgrade I have no problems. Whats with the hostile attitude? Are you an Ipod user?
I've been researching and waiting for a good price for a Sansa. There are quite a few reviews online and overall everyone is saying it's better than an ipod. I owned a Nano and didn't like it. It scratched easily, only held 2G and didn't have a radio.
with a name like whitetrash69 Im guessing hes pissed because everytime he plugs this and his $25 walmart brand DVD player in at the same time it kicks the breaker.
I just ordered the e250 for $94 at buy.com and now Im a little pissed too but eh its got a SDmini slot so its not to bad.
#3 ... sorry to inform you, but the Sansa players will also scratch fairly easy. Though I have yet to see a small stylish player of these types that didn't scratch easily!
Sorry #1, even with some bugs, the Sansa is definitely worth considering as an all around great player, that is better priced with many features than just about all its competition ... so most people won't go wrong in choosing one over the other currently similar featured current choices available!
The only lock-ups my Sansa e260 has is during initial start-up. Once in a while the player just doesn't properly initialize, and it takes holding the on/off button for 20 seconds to reset the player so it will turn on properly with the very next touch of the button. Happens very infrequently for how often I turn on the player anyway, so it's not really a big deal, so I didn't even update my firmware yet I have been very pleased with its performance. With all the features this little player has to offer; video, FM radio, voice recorder, drag-and-drop files, etc., it's one very good player which is only getting better as new firmware is released.
I haven't kept too up to date on current events with the player, but there was also buzz about Rockbox possibly working on and releasing a firmware for the Sansa players, which would just add another feather in the Sansa cap IMO.

the 10% rebate Ben posted takes you right to Sandisk's site for said 10% off. But, on Amazon's site, they have an apparently separate $15 off rebate - are these combineable? Or because they both seem to be through Sandisk, only one would go through? Both together would be great, of course.
