Don't forget...microSD slot as well.
y are these SanDisk products always refurbished/used?
that to me means that people bought them new at one point, but didn't like it or it broke somehow.. then returned it.. and.. we are re-buying it..
I think googling refurbished might help people understand what it really is.
a friend of mine has had several of these new and each one lasted only a few weeks, if that long. for the price of them, how is it that there are so many of them refurbished -- I just can't imagine they cost all that much to make and would imagine it must cost quite a bit to fix hundreds at a time to resell. something is obviously working for Sandisk to do this, but at this price, I would buy something new compared to refurbished as this seems like a wicked rip-off.
I got one of these refurbs a few months ago for my son. It was in brand new condition. He uses it almost daily and it's still going strong.
your sone must really hate you for not getting him an ipod touch
The Fuze is a great little player and way better than an ipod nano. Not sure what #4 is talking about with these not lasting but a few weeks. Is your friend throwing them down, then stepping on them? lol I bought a refurbed Fuze off newegg.com about a year and a half ago and it has never let me down. I also own 3 Sansa Clips and they are great, reliable little players. Sandisk makes the best mp3 players for the money....way better than the ipod shuffle and nano.
BTW, you can Rockbox these players and it makes them even better.
I bought a 2GB refurb a few months ago for about this much. Worked great, I really like the microsd slot.
The screen is pretty fragile, though. Mine cracked while in my pocket, I don't even know how. I couldn't find a replacement screen anywhere.
I think I will be replacing it with the clip+ in the near future. The new + model takes a microsd card, seems sturdier, and has a smaller screen than the fuze. No video playback, but who watches videos on these anyways?
one useful thing (at least for me) about this is that you can make it work like a usb flash drive, so you just plug it in, drop some songs on it, unplug, and you can go to that folder and play all the songs there. ipod + itunes or alternative software to add songs was taking too long with the way that i listen to music.
Had a prob with mine, the sd card apparently got corrupted and cause the whole device to fail. Runs fine using the internal disk space only.
The FM tuner is very good, and the recorder's not bad either, bought a new one of these and slammed a 8gig mini sd card in and it's good to go for me..had mine over a year and use it daily, no problems.
I also have the ipod, but carry this around more often because I don't have to be so careful about breaking it.
The 2G was $28 shipped on woot last Sunday.
I love my 2 GB refurb I got maybe 6 months ago. Put an 8 GB card in, installed RockBox, and it's been solid since.
Gave a refurb 16gb View over a year ago. Gets used daily and no problems. Great value IMHO...
You are better off with a refurb. At least you know if it was jacked up when the player was new then chances are the player was probably fixed. I wouldn't buy this 4GB reburb, find a deal on a 2GB & pickup an 8GB MicroSDHC card.
These things are awesome. If you want a great player just for music then you're done. THis is it and it don't get better. The Nano is good if you want video play/recording and you dig all that itunes baconnaise. Otherwise it's a waste of money.
#6 really? This sansa has some big advantages over the touch for just listening to music. Price, size, battery life and DRM freedom for starters.
If none of that matters to you and you want more than music then apple is your ticket. Your post is akin to comparing a sedan to a tour bus. Gimme a break!
My family has 2 * Sansa 8GB Fuze, 2 * Sansa 8GB E280 and a Sansa 4GB Clip. All bought new, all work great.
