I like the idea of a cheap mp3 player with built-in speakers.. I could see it being useful in some settings. I wish it had an LCD screen though.
Neat little device - comes with 1GB SanDisk SD card, carabiner and aa battery. Preloaded with kids' music. No radio unfortunately, but you wouldn't be able to tune it anyway.
Got one of these for my 9 year old. Great little device. Simple to operate and with 2 headphone jacks she and a friend can both listen to music through the headphones or through the built in speaker. Sound through the built in speaker is great for what it is- no crackling or hissing. For $15 it's a can't miss.
My 2 yr old son loves this. Sound is decent compared to what I expected coming out of the built-in speakers.
amazon has it for $15 as well, free shipping (selling through BuyNow), for those who can avoid tax through Amazon.
Doesn't it use a AAA, not AA battery #2? That would seem right based on the runtime, I only mention it because I'd felt it was silly to have a player this size and cripple the runtime with the smaller battery which costs little if any less than a AA.
I'd love it if Sandisk brought out a line of their cheap players that took a AA. My old Sansa that takes AAA still works fine, but if it had a lithium cell it would've been time to throw it away due to the higher cost of a replacement battery.
