Hmmm..."water resistant speaker" doesn't seem like a good idea if you are taking a bath and the thing drops in- especially when you're using the AC adapter.

My CCradio made by Sangean is crap. This radio has pretty good feedback though.

I'm too lazy to check, but would imagine the AC adapter uses an AC-DC step down transformer on the wall so at the radio it is all low voltage, and quite current limited. Since it takes 2 D cells, input voltage might be about 5V or less.

Even so, the trick to putting a corded low voltage device in the shower is the cord has to travel upwards until it gets outside of the area water can splash onto, so it doesn't run down the cord till it gets to the outlet.

    Most people?

Radio gives you late breaking news, weather, time, and some songs. All useful things when you wake up and get ready for work. Plus, some people don't need or want to forethink on being their own DJ, they tune into the station they do because they like the content despite the commercials.

Remember it is a shower radio, not your audiophile laid back drift away main use system. It'd be kinda retarded to fiddle with MP3 player controls to get your groove on for the few minutes you shower baconnaise and shave in the morning.

Seriously, 2 D cell batteries for a radio? I wonder why they didn't just go with a car battery or something... hmmm, weird!

For a couple of bucks more, I'd go with the Hammacher shower radio and its LIFETIME warranty.
I got a refund on one, without a receipt, 7 years after I bought one when it got water inside it

actually sangean is usually really good; D cells make a lot more sense than AA AAA etc - inexpensive and will run for a long time. If you care about rechargeables, you can get two AA two D size adapters.

I bought this radio awhile back. It's totally solid and a fantastic radio, but at a steep price. Sound is surprisingly good and loud for the single midrange speaker.

Note that the AC adapter is NOT included.
