How does this compare to the ATI 4830? I can't find any direct comparisons. I have the 4830 in my HTPC at the moment and want one of the 5xxx series cards for the DTS-MA and TrueHD bitstreaming.

It is much better than the 4830. In fact you might find the 5750 more to your liking as a HTPC replacement. Lower power consumption, lower heat dissipation etc etc plus enough hair on its chest to play most modern games in the market and then some.
    Don't forget dx11.

    but.....

Can it play Crysis you ask? YES but not too well.

Cave dog must live in a cave too, this can chew up Crysis without much trouble. Been using one with a OCd E5200 at 4.2ghz and can spit out crysis at 1280*1024 at high settings with no blur with 35-70fps. Only the unpatched versions have huge memory leaks that have problems in general. Dont listen to poop breath or that prancing little corpsefoker. DX11? This card will be two years old before it will matter and by that time you will need another card and the gpu cheerleaders will by touting to each other about dx12. Let the morons pretend to stay ahead of the curve with the newest thing that has no real applicable use.

Thanks guys, looks like I'll do the upgrade to the 5770. My 4830 already chews up the games I currently play at 1080 res., Batman, Flight Sim X, Fallout 3, etc. So with the lower power consumption, this should be worth it.

A lot of news on DX11!

I like this, can you say TWIMTBP!
EA spokesperson Gordon Van ghetto dog explained that the beta had been delayed to provide the studio with more "planning time" for the implementation of "optimizations." Why can't they just say we're waiting for Nvidia to catch-up cause that what we we're told to do?

#3 wipe that froth from your mouth geez!

#1 I was recommending the 5750 over the 5770 because i thought you were going to use it for HTPC purposes. If you are going to game, yes please, do get the 5770. Also if you're playing at 1024x768 res, may i recommend a 22inc lcd monitor?

the noobtube #3 looked at the words i typed and it went straight over his brainless head and then he proceeded to defecate all over the place and then some. 2 years before dx11 become relevant? are you high? Dirt2 is out, Stalker and bunch of other games are about to come out. Trolling is an art....learn it!

As for the Crysis comment #1, it's a running joke in all the forums: "Can it play Crysis?" is a question everyone asks when some new hardware comes out. I am glad you decided to get the 5770, it's a great card.

#6, thanks for the reply. It is a joint HTPC/gaming rig, attached to a 47" LCD. Gaming at 1920x1080p is pretty awesome to say the least. I'm looking to get a 1080p projector with 106+" screen within the next few months as well.

ironically... i have yet to play crysis....

Nice beating with the club; though it won't help, nothing works.

Like I need to come back every two seconds to see what you bland dullards have come up with during your typing "battles"? You morons cant even keep your awesome non-points you try to make/explain straight. My FW900 is still laughing at your stillborn girlish rants. When river isnt blatantly lying hes putting up his smoke screens of spare time. Beating with a hypothetical club, now whos high? I love the overwhelming proof of need for DX11 right now by mentioning two games that implement DX11, just like when Bioshock came out and the card companies told you to get DX10 right away. You guys wont be going to college will you? Now please please stop your hurting my feelings with all your scary pent up talent???
