This is the card so many people have been lusting after.
in couple of weeks ATI will release new line of v cards so 4xxx line will go down in price
Picked this up from The Egg for this price plus shipping awhile back. Got it overclocked as far as ATI Overdrive will let me on stock cooling. Has run COD 4 and Crysis without a problem. Am using XP Pro so can't use the DX 10.1 drivers.
Not a deal till it at least equals 4850 prices, which it should have done by now so WTF is up ati?
4770 is a nice card except for the sucky drivers, but at this price you might as well just bend over and let the next joe on the street anal pork ya for enough money to buy a card with decent drivers.
How is this a deal???
Are you just baiting our freelance gpu critics?
No not necessarily a deal but, NO Rebate and free shipping haven't been the norm for this series lately. But #4 is right you can today pickup a couple of 4850's at or below this price, like these.

However, this is a newer released card with a nice Arctic Cooling Accelero. The 4770 wasn't ever meant to be a volume leader just "pipe cleaner" (check) for ATI's 40Nm process. Basically it will spar with 9800GTX+ or Nvidia's renamed GTS250 512Mb, which are this price for low-end AIB's and a healthy rebates, or a good deal more for quality cards with requisite rebates.
What is good about the 4770 is its' lower power draw (most 9800GTX+ require 2x6-pin) and it's appreciably smaller board length, that helps with air flow and any fitment issues. On the downside 4770's begin to give up ground after 1680x1050, as it limited by the 128-Bit: however if your wanting higher resultions like 1920x1200 spend your money on somthing more like a 4870/Core-216 at least. Lastly, 4770's has shown great promise when OC'd, with this new cooler and the latest Rivatuner; >10% isn't out of the range of most.

Oh and on more thing Crossfire... for $200 and No Rebates to worry.
Tom's Hardware.com
"Of course, the good news is far more meaningful to game enthusiasts here. Two Radeon HD 4770s are unbeatable at $220. Almost across the board, in every single benchmark, a pair of 4770s is able to oust the Radeon HD 4890. Moreover, the 4770s use less power under load, run cooler, and, if our samples were any indication, overclock like mad. Need I even mention the two cards keeping pace with the GTX 280—a $305+ board?"

What I like is buy two and in six months split them and maybe get $75-80 each... and uppgrade into Dx11.
