Tis a sweet cooler... wonder if it could be fitted to a 5670 that would be a nice HTPC offering.

Bottom plate on the cooler looks custom. Might be removable or moddable (sans warranty) but I doubt abacons it would fit on another series.

Warranty... I just like/wanted the HeatPipe! That backing plate is just there to absorb heat from memory and power section. It looks like that plate is just sandwiched with 4 mounting bolts and a snap clip to provide more tension at those power-section chips. Heck if I thought that would help the 5670 I'd just draw-out cut and bend one up that simple.

So, after scaling the pictures on a Sapphire 5670 the boards measure up identical (spacing for mounting holes and rear edge of the board where the pipes wrap). Even the front side has no obstruction to where the pipes run. That thing looks like it would fit exactly.

Now a 5670 is a little hotter and uses slightly more watts, but looking at what xbit got while only touching two pipes this could work. The Sapphire “wrap over the top” design might actual be more efficient as the liquid vapor state change/return is more correct in either a tower or a media enclose (mobo flat). I know that isn't always a necessity for heat pipe design, but it as least somewhat better. Compare to the Alpenföhn Heidi which just bigger is it doing any good... liquid never naturally moves back to the heat source. A little 60mm fan strap across the Sapphire to move a little more air and you might have something.
