I ordered twice from Seagate the past month, both orders arrived fine.

Can this be used to back up data from memory sticks directly???

Seagate is a THIEF. They purposely collect customers' credit card and mailing information, then cancel all the orders. Don't buy their products if you can.

For those who like finding someone to blame: Didn't anyone tell you folks that whining gets you little in life?

Take it as a lesson learned and MOVE ON ALREADY

here's what I did. I took note of all the prices for the seagate items on newegg vs those from seagate's website. not surprisingly even with the 10% discount, everything was more expensive. That's bait and switch, and the Better Business Bureau was notified. Not that one person writing in matters, but if everyone who bought drives and had their orders canceled days later wrote in, those are decent numbers.

Seagate simply just sold out of a discontinued item. Some people actually got their hard drives so next time order sooner, and visit other websites which post these deals hours before ben.

TBH, I'll buy from whatever manufacturer has the best price/performance ratio.

i ordered 120gb drive within approximately 1 hour this deal was posted here. a few days later got cancellation email and 10% discount. i never buy from seagate and never will. burp seagate!

Sorry that seagate priced their hard drives so low that thousands of people bought them.

I placed an order for a 120GB, then I ordered an 80GB, and then I placed a third order for two more 120GBs. My first order is still "In Process" but the others were canceled. So, yeah, I think they just sold out quickly. Unfortunately they must just have some shitty inventory control system that allowed thousands of bargain seekers to place orders after all the drives were gone. Thus creating much ill will among ghetto dogs around the world.

My order of 100 has been shipped. Will be posting on ebay soon. Sexy Sarah Palin rulz! Gotta love the corruption of the GoP!
