A 7200.9 ??? I wouldn't pay more than $60 for this old turd!
I wonder where they found these things. Fry's often has the OEM 500GB WD drives for $109, and once for $97. I've got a few of the WD 500 and 750s in a server and they've been flawless -- run much cooler than the Seagates (according to T monitoring) and are quiet.
What happened to the days of <$30/FAR hard drive deals?
#3, those deals went in the same scrap heap with sub 100GB drives
no deal unless it's $90 per 500GB
Wait for the 750gb to go down in price with the 1tb HDs out now.
I just bought a Hitachi 500GB P7500K for a similar price.
Loads of deals ahead folks - when the recession is in full swing. Save your money now - dark clouds ahead...
Maybe it is 7200.9 but I wouldn't be so sure of it, seems like Frys sometimes doesn't update their product listings when a newer part replaces an old. Could be 72009 though I suppose, wouldn't want to imply it's certain either way.
