Nice price but only 5900RPM. Liability seems another problem for this drive according to newegg review. Great for someone willing to take risk.
#1 - Firmware issue is long gone and actually never impacted this model.
Five cents a Gig is a good deal.
And backup your damn data. All drives eventually fail...
I'm starting to think a lot of the posts about Seagate problems on the web (not Ben's so much as popular seller and review 'sites) are viral marketing by a competitor... too many posts by different member names in the same forums are suspiciously alike and I don't mean the details of what happened I mean more subtle things like english composition styles.

I really want to like Seagate, but my own personal experience has taught me to stay away.
I've had mixed experiences with Seagate. For the most part they have served me well. In fact I still have an 80GB Seagate running as an OS drive for about 5-years in one of my PC's.
