Bad reviews, I'd stick with a faster 1TB.

#1 I agree. I am needing more storage for my server but I will pass on this due to the high failure rate.

Neither of none have any real failure rates data for this drive. All newegg reviews the positive ones should be timed by 100 and all the negative should be divided by 100 to get a more accurate representation.

I have had one for a year. It's been on 24/7 since I got it with zero issues.

How is this deal "Expired"? I just bought another one of these at this deal price for my HTPC.

This drive's perfect for a HTPC or general storage - low noise, low power, low heat, long life.

Most of those bad reviewers have bad drives soon after install which I'm sure is due to Newegg's crappy packing of bare drives. If that's a big concern for you, get a retail drive or avoid Newegg

    WTF?

I have one of these drives, works fine for me so far. If I continue to have good luck with it, I would give it 4 eggs. If something goes awry, I'd give it 1 egg, just like the people that have already reviewed it. I have not written a review and I think what #3 is trying to say is that those with problems are more apt to write a review.

Of note, one reviewer had the drive fail at 45 days and Seagate is making HIM pay shipping for a replacement and he's going to get a refurb. That would've been enough for me to steer clear of this drive had this been posted before I bought mine.

One Seagate 1Tb had the clicking noise and I lost all my data!
Returned it but was NOT reimbursed for postage!
Received replacement drive about ~2 weeks later. Can't tell if it's a new or refurb drive but it works!

Problem is... have another Seagate 1Tb drive that's started to have the clicking noises!!

I use the drives as Backup drives so I better transfer everything off before I lose more data!

Don't think I can trust Seagate anymore! I used to stay away from them based on the old problems that Seagate had back in the 1990's to early 2000's but the company "improved" their products (supposedly) which is why I hard workerto them now.

Guess I'll have to switch back to WD or Hitachi!

I miss Maxtor (which Seagate bought out) since I've never had a problem with those drives! IBM's former Deskstar drives didn't give me problems either, before the brand was bought out by Hitachi!
