    The recent feedback on this hard drive is pathetic. I have my very first Seagate and it too is failing SMART and seek error tests. I would never buy a Seagate again after my first experience. They all seem to have this clicking issue then they die. My old IDE's are better than this garbage.

    These are loud.
    I thought mine was defective at first but its been 18 months now and it is kicking strong.
    BTW I paid one hundred ten back then.

    #3, do you know which generation you have? I think the 2nd gen ones are suppose to be much quieter.

    7200.10's are slow, unoptimized, hot, and loud.

    This is for the 3.5" form factor (desktop). Just adding that bit of info to anyone wondering why it wasn't mentioned.

    I almost got this. Then I remembered Seagate has a stupid $20 advanced replacement fee. That's total BS.
