ZipZoomFly.com has the Seagate Momentus 500GB 2.5" 5400.6 ST9500325AS Hard Drive for Notebooks priced at $90 with free shipping. A good upgrade to tide you over to the days of SSD affordability. Here is the Seagate site for this drive.

Flakes out after about 6 months, so buyer beware (I didn't, and good thing I have archives!)

Sorry #2, but I've have a pair in my 17" for around 6 month now, as well as the external FreeAgent Pro 500GB version as well. If you have issues, one must consider how the drive is being used.
