The Apricorn software for cloning the HD doesn't work in Windows 8. I ordered this same setup for my new laptop that came with Win 8 and I couldn't get the cloning software to work so I called their tech support. They were useless and told me that "their software isn't guaranteed to work"
If you've got Windows 8 this won't work for you. From what I was able to find out, at this time there is no free software to clone a HD if you are running Windows 8, the only thing I could find that is suppose to work is Acronis True Image.
Doesn;t Win8 come with a drive cloning tool?
Not being able to clone Win8 is a feature not a bug. Not being able to use Win8 is also a feature not a bug.
You definitely have to trash that stupid Metro interface. After that is works OK and is supposedly more secure from intarwebs social diseases.
