Amazon has the Seagate ST2000DM001 Barracuda 2TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive for $90 with free shipping. Features a 64MB cache, 7200RPM, 6.0Gb/s SATA interface, and AcuTrac servo technology.
The price isn't that bad - after all, it is a 7200 rpm drive. The $60 to $70 2Tb drives were ~5400 rpm drives. The bad thing is the 1 year warranty and the bad reviews that have me scared off.
The flood of hard drives on the market that drove prices down as the manufactures unloaded their production stock before the company buyouts and mergers? There were 4 hard drive manufactures pre-flood and now 2 manufactures post-flood. The buyouts and mergers had more to do with the pricing before and after the companies mergered than the water flood did. It will be awhile before we see prices like that again. Just like were did the warranties go?
still 30 dollars too expensive only down 10 dollars from last year?
give me a break.
I can wait.

I purchased several 2TB 3.5" Hitachi drives for $60AR when they were routinely available for that price - they are 7200 RPM.
Some people seem to have forgotten the prices in the pre-flood days. 2TB 7200RPM drives were normally under $90.
