Pretty good for a 9.5mm drive. Probably a better deal than the 500GB hybrid drive at the same price.

After seeing several newer 2.5 Seagate drives fail with intermittent errors, I removed the circuit board from one. I found a connection that was just contact pins pressed against the bottom of the board, no connector plug. After bending the contact pins to exert more pressure on the board the drive worked fine. After seeing how poorly these were built, I stopped buying Seagate drives as replacements to improve my life and reputation as a repair tech.

As a former die-hard Seagate fan... Their quality control and manufacturing quality has fallen off in recent years. I would stay away from this one.

So which brand did you pick instead? Most if not all use that pin-pad connection occasionally from model to model.

#6, I believe #4 recommends drives that use more duct tape.
