Ends 2/22. Newegg with 1SaleADay has the Seda Ultra Sharp 5 Piece Ceramic Knife Set for $35 with free shipping. Includes 3" paring knife, 4" paring knife, 5" utility knife, 6" slicer knife and 6" chef knife. Similar knife sets are found for around $60+.
Anyone have/use these? I know their cheap but I do need to replace my 3 piece santoku knives that I've had for about 7 years and are old (and where cheaper as well).
I saw one credible, good review of these on Amazon. I enjoy using the Kyocera ceramic santuko knife. These look to be similar, and the rubberized handle sounded good, so I ordered a set.
Ceramic is nice (I also have the Kyocera santoku) - extremely sharp and holds the edge really well. But obviously you need to be much more careful handling and cleaning them. You also shouldn't do anything that might flex or chip the blade (e breaking down a chicken).
