Fantastic price. These are usually between $85 to $100. They cut out all outside noise and sound fantastic. Grab 'em if you are looking for a nice pair of (slightly large) headphones.

I love these headphones. They definitely keep a better bass line than my ER6i's and right now are cheaper than'em. Not to mention you can wear them for a while before getting that too-heavy feel. This is definitely for home use though because they're as big as ear muffs xP. I'm actually thinking of getting another pair. Highly recommended!

Amazon has the exact same deal right now - free shipping as well - follow the Amazon Review link from the post above.

I have mine for over 4 years now. Love the sound, and it provides very good insulation from outside noise. It's also tight, something necessary because it is designed to cut off outside noise.

Only problem with mine is that some plastic part at the band - the part that slides in and out to adjust for length - snapped and is now loose and rattling. Everything still works, just a cosmetic problem, but disappointing just the same.

Amazon is $70 but I need to pay sales tax for Newegg (and there's the 20% off using Paypal). BTW Ben's direct link to Newegg didn't work for me - either replace "asp" with "aspx" in the URL or search for HD280 yourself.

Has anyone tried using the coupon code EMC1126PORT01 in the Promo Code field and had success?

I tried to get the price down to $65 by inputting the coupon code and it will not discount the $5. There is a message that says 'This promo code you entered is only available for specific programs.'

The grand total is still at $69.99 with free shipping.

      Any ideas or thoughts here?

Agree that these are excellent sounding headphones. I own two pair, keep one at work and one at home. The plastic around the headband has broken on both. Still works but I expect better. Would have hoped Sennheiser would have solved the problem by now, but apparently not.

The headband didn't break on my Sony MDR-V6 and MDR-V600 in 10 to 15 years of use. The ear pads rotted off. My old Sonys were retired when I heard how much better new a HD-280 sounded. The Sonys were simply worn out.
