Do the research. 4" is for people 250lb or over. Otherwise you just sink in the bed.

i agree 100% with #1. i'm 170lbs and the middle of your body just sinks into the bed so you get uneven weight distribution, and the gf eventually just sinks into my half of the bed. not worth it. you spend 25-33% of your life in bed; spending money wisely will improve your posture and make you less tired. i don't want to put down the big bucks for a genuine tempurpedic mattress, but you can get generic versions that feel great for around $800. if we get another stimulus check, that's how i'm spending mine.

Guess I shouldn't get one. I don't want to sink into the bed.

sinking doesn't sound like fun, slept on a tempur-pedic at the marriot this weekend and those are sweet.

I brought a 2in one last year! incredibily comfortable! Then I switched to a 10-inch full size foam mattress from overstock.com for about $325 shipped! Better deals than getting a $1500 mattress elsewhere!!!

I herniated a disc and, while dealing with it, trashed my SI joint.

I was ordered by doc and PT to replace my mattress. I tried all kinds of beds and the tempurpedic is the way to go. It's not the most "comfortable" (e soft and cozy), but it has done wonders for my back. If you want to go with memory foam, then make the investment and go with tempurpedic. It's worth it.

it is like sleeping on rocks or the floor. Go and lay on your floor for the same results.

I got a 2" topper from overstock. Very comfortable. Although it keeps shifting and overhangs part of the mattress.
