Are their servers located on the Moon or something? Say hello to 1000 ms latency.

Not bad but not great! There are better deals out there when you google them. Check out some sites from hosts using and googling: hostpulse speed test

#3, don't assume that every webhosting plan on bensbargains is crap. I have Lunarpages and they have great uptime and customer service. They're actually one of the best reviewed hosting sites on the web (and not just because of price, which are good, but not the cheapest). Go read some reviews and you'll see.

Meh, I just switched from them. They had very poor communication between the admins and their support. There was at least 2 periods of down time within the year that lasted for over 24 hours. One was mostly an email issue and the other was a sql thing. This effected many users on my server Muphrid I think it was. Both of these times I talked with support and they stated that they did not know about the problem. I know for a fact that both times other users had reported problems hours earlier. There were a few times where mail went off line for a couple hours.

They are not near as bad as some other hosts that I have been with but I am much happier since leaving them.

i got Lunar to host my forum for more than 3 years now

during the time, there have been some issues, but they clean their act up.

overall, I'm happy with their service and recommend it to anyone

I've used bluehost for a couple of years. They've been "OK" - probably "good" for the price (also about 6.95 a month). My main issue with them was when a PostNuke site of mine would regularly get "CPU quota exceeded" messages dispite not that much happening on that site (which was the only one of my domains with much traffic at the time).

HostPC is way cheaper than this. ASmallOrange is about this price level, and it seems you get more with ASO than with lunar. No deal.

(Who still pays for hosting on a monthly basis anyway?)

I have switched from Lunarpages to RealWebHost and I do not regret it. I had so much problems with Lunarpages and RWH is a lot more stable. No problems with e-mails, downtimes, weak spam filters, etc.

The company I used to work for used LunarPages and they were absolute crap. You get what you pay for folks.
