1 yr warranty, not good. You'll be out 500 bucks if it breaks

Mine has been running fine for a year now, paid $800 before tax. Picture is decent, speakers leave something to be desired. Good price. Next time I buy I'm going high end though, but for a nice size budget TV this is a solid choice.

Why so cheap, because CFL backlit LCD's are being phased out.
It's all about the LED backlit LCD's.

Either way I would still consider this for $499.

I perfer Samsung, just looking for good deal with 1080P & at least 42".

"It's all about the LED backlit LCD's."

    - most TV's aren't TRUE LED TV's, their actually LED back-lit which doesn't give you much of a picture quality increase. The main benefit is a decrease in power consumption (which really isn't if you think you're going to save much $$$ annually)

This is a great price if you don't mind the 60Hz refresh and the older technology. Definitely better than using your old CRT if you have one of those still.

I wouldn't buy this because several people stated elsewhere that you can't add or delete channels manually outside of an automatic scan. Given I have to use the QAM portion of the tuner, I don't want 30 extra crappy channels that I have to surf thru. Can anyone validate that you can't add / delete channels manually on this model?

#10 I got around the channel thing by using the "parental controls" to block the channels I didn't want.

The display is really good, but the speakers suck.

Dell shipped quickly, but the company they used for delivery took a long time (this was in mid-December, so the holidays could have been a factor.)
