I have had a 47" model since mid 2009 and I'm very happy with it. quality TV line. bought mine for $850 back then, which was a steal at the time.
This is a good TV that I bought for my father in law at BF last year for $800. Note that it's an LCD not LED, but still has a really bright great picture. Well worth it.

Best Buy is offering the 51" 7000 series Samsung Plasma for $250 more. That's a way nicer piece of equipment with a much larger ($500) discount.
