It is still not cheap enough to make anyone buy a blu ray player.
Maybe they'll drop even lower around christmas
Good prices that continue to fall. Mixed reviews at Amazon. Just as many 1 Stars (17) as 5 Stars (24). Too close for me. Looks like you'll be checking for firmware monthly if now weekly.

Just one question... Why? blue ray.. blah
MESSAGE DELETED BY BEN DUE TO VIOLATION OF THE INTERPOL DECENCY EDICT.
You can get a new bluray player for that price.. not worth it.. and I hope #5 is kidding.. since HDDVD already lost and their players were going for 50 bucks new on woot.
bluray is overrated. imo not worth paying a preminum for it now. just wait, it will become the new standard and price should be around same as regular dvd.
I have this blu-ray player (got it free with a Aquos TV purchased in January) and I would suggest staying away from it. The main reason is that it has lots of disc incompatibility problems. The last firmware update fixed a lot of these, but they are mostly playing catchup in that a new blu-ray disc will come out and may not work with the player for a couple of months until a new firmware update comes out. Just google "pixar short films aquos" for the worst example, where Pixar Short Films Collection didn't work for it for a very long time (and still may not even work).
Excellent choice for a blu-ray player! If you're looking to jump into the blu-ray market, then this is your player!
#8 I think you just described the problem with every 1st generation Blu-Ray player.
already refurbs on the market, wow.
My brother has a Sharp Aquos bluray player, he picked it up from Sears 2 weeks ago when it was $179. I don't know if this is the same model, though. But he experiences LONG load times, but the player kicks ass once it's playing.
If there are refurbs out already, then beware. Buy at your own risk.
The price should go down soon otherwise who can afford to buy in this economy dismal time...
time to buy BR at 100 per player. suck it sony. i hope you burn.
And even if the actual players come down in price... i want to see the movies come down as well, before i make a change to blu ray
Get the sony 350
too many other players out there not that good a deal
Deal sucks. Very slow player and optical is poor quality. Wait for the prices of the BR players to drop and of the dvds to drop.
Exactly right marcel. Even BD rentals are a rip-off.
