Ends at 10PM PT. Home.woot! has the Shun DM0902 Limited Edition 10th Anniversary 8" Chef's Knife for $200 + $5 shipping = $205 shipped. Normally around $300. Has a 6" blade, VG2 cutting core steel and 32 layers of stainless steel and copper cladding.
I got one as a gift two years ago, and it is still unbelievably sharp. Sharp enough to cut you 5 minutes before you know it. Oh, and you can send it back for free sharpening if it ever needs it. Probably once every 5 years.
If you are really into bird watching buy some Zeiss glass, if you bird hunting go out and find yourself an old Belgium made Browning shot gun, and if you like to cook birds then get one of these. If its your thing sometimes you need to treat yourself.
Good knives are a waste of money. You get it and you're out the $200. You really love it so you use it for everything then next thing you know the police are at the door and you're trying to hide the knife in some quick dry cement because you decided to make yourself a new patio in the middle of January. Oops.
Actually, when I go bird hunting, it's with one of my Parkers, a Greener or the Sauer (pre-War). I've been thinking about a Fabbri, but probably won't pull the trigger, so to speak. The gun safe is already full.
My dad was a good ol' boy living the dream in the middle of the Hillbilly Nation who loved Brownings, just passed it on to me I guess. Isn't the Fabbri the cost of a starter house? Not an indulgence most good ol' boys can afford!
You have to be kidding me?
I hear that there's a bridge in Brooklyn for sale, too.

Makes a great stocking stuffer..
With that kind of price better be capable of cutting diamonds off the kimberlite host rock!
I think I'll shun this deal.
This is not the knife Bryan Adams sang about.
you can buy 4 to 5 very decent knife that will last forever.
That's very valuable information. Thanks.
