Moofi.woot! has the Shun SG0418 Ken Onion Elite 8" Chef's Knife for $130 + $5 shipping = $135 shipped. Currently priced online around $285 or more. Designed with Pakkawood handle, and SG-2 powdered steel cutting core clad with 2 layers of SUS410 stainless.
This is a great price for a really good quality knife. I have handled one and it is too big and heavy for my main knife, it feels cleaverish. It even has a display stand if I remember.
I would love to have one of these, but don't have money to waste right now. I have a really nice Wusthof set and those things are amazing. I had always just had a $25 set of JCPenney knifes or something and thought they would be a little better, but they are indeed a game changer and joy to use. I just wonder if stainless steel could be worth that kind of money.
For that price it better cut a lot of onions

$135 for a knife is not a deal in my opinion...

If this was made like the Samurai swords I might consider paying $135 otherwise no.
i read the steel is folded 100 times
