These are overpriced. There are better sounding earphones for 1/3 the cost. Dont pay for the name...
These headphones really are amazing. I got a pair to replace my Sennheiser PX200 'phones which were very good on their own. I was completely blown away by the sound quality, much better than the PX200's which were over-the-ear style closed-back headphones. These in-ear 'phones are absolutely amazing, you'll hear things in your audio you never knew were there.
You'll also realize how crappy your iPod sounds if you use these. Both ends of the frequency range get clipped heavily on the iPod, and not gracefully either. You don't notice on regular 'phones because they have a limited frequency response but these SE110's will highlight every crappy bass punch and every clipped vocal from your iPod.
These are the best headphones I've ever heard. I have some hearing loss and was prone to turning my music up really high so that I could hear all of the sounds. I'm happy to say that I don't have to do that with these. Because so much of the ambient sound is being blocked out and because they sound so great, I can listen to them at regular volumes and not miss anything.
I would recommend these to anyone.
I hate buying headphones. I have an entire drawer devoted to unsatisfactory ear buds and headphones.
do these come w/ those paste-on screens that block earwax?
I have some older Shure in ear monitors, and they are very good audio transducers. When listening to a good source (not compressed and mangled mp3s) I hear fine details that I don't hear on good floor standing speakers. And the Shures are very well constructed, had mine for 4-5 years now.

The $10 will do just as good... if U know what to look for.
These are great in ear phones spend the money it is worth it.
I love Shure. I had a pair 2 years ago. they broke about 6 months ago. i sent them into shure and they sent me a brand new (also newer model) no questions. great customer service. i support them.
Without a doubt, excellent ear phones.
Is this ear phone worth the money?
#12, it depends also on whether or not you like headphones that go into the ear canal...
okay #7, we heard ya the first time.
I must have picked some up that sounded like a broken speaker,I returned them the same day and picked up some Sony MDRs for half the price and better quality.
how's the sound compared to other isolating earphones ??
No, even if the iPod has a high rolloff frequency on the low end, it does not clip and yet remain hidden on other headphones or speakers in general, it's not heard based on some make-believe virtue of these. The crappy bass on iPod and other players with the Shures is due to their being inable to reproduce much bass which is why many people choose larger cans instead. That, and they have too low an impedance which is a problem on low current output sources, and also causes poor channel separation.
A headamp between them and a portable player will help with the clipping, but it won't make a tiny transducer suddenly compete with a larger one because it's still about air volume moved by the driver.
Beyond that, they do sound very detailed in the mid and high end. Whether they're worth the cost is arguable but for what they are, they are pretty good.
The best thing about these things is their ability to block external sounds. Love 'em!
