Amazon with BLUTEKUSA has the Simple Mobile Activation Kit including Sim Card for $0.40 with free shipping (no minimum). Simple Mobile offers unlimited calling plans starting at $25 / month which includes unlimited text and $40 / month which includes unlimited data + 250MB of 4G data.
Simple Mobile has the worse customer service ever. Most of the time the reps can't speak proper english or their accents are so bad it's difficult to understand what they saying. I had to call customer service twice and only did I ask for the supervisor did I get results and this was just to get activation.
If you have to reup its best to do it via phone. Going through their website is so confusing that it'll be very easy to make a mistake. I was on an older plan but when I went online to make a payment, it appeared that I had to choose the plan I was paying for and the choice of plan was no longer there for selection. I had the $40 unlimited 3g talk, text, and data with no cap and that's no longer offered. So I didn't know if I was going to get the new plan or retain the old plan.
So again I had to call customer service for clarification. I asked the rep several times if I was still going to keep the unlimited 3g plan since I started on it and she kept repeating something like it was from a script. I told her I only needed the 3g plan but she seemed as confused as I was. And her accent was so heavy, I could not understand anything at all.
So I gave up and switched over the to $50 unlimited everything plan which caps off at 2tb. Go over that and you get a warning from them about over usage and threats about kicking you off the network.)
With the $40 plan, after 250mb of 4g speed, you go down to EDGE speed. No tethering, no youtube or any online video streaming or you'll get a threatening message saying you are violation of contract and you'll be kicked off the network. Read the online reviews before you take the plunge.
Agree with all of the above. It's like SM goes out of their way to make you not like them. I was with them for a grand total of one month before I tossed it out the window and picked up a Straight Talk SIM.
ST has an unlimited everything plan that is supposedly capped at 2Gb or so, but I've never hit it, and never heard a peep out of them. I've done a bit of tethering and all the YouTube I want without a complaint. Speeds are a lot better too, on the SM 3G plan you are (were?) capped at 119Kbps; it sounds plenty fast, but you had better make an appointment to update an app with that speed. ST has no such speed limit, you get what you get.
Tomorrow and Saturday you can get any new Samsung phone including the Galaxy s3 at T-mobile for signing up new or re-upping your plan. You have to pay either $200 or $300 depending on your plan up front, but you get it back on a debit card. That also means you pay taxes on it
I did this about 2 years ago with my first Android phone and ended up getting the rebates back in less than 3 weeks.
