heard these were just designed to look cool with mediocre audio quality.
#1...they are designed to look cool and have mediocre sound quality. But they are $20. You are getting what you pay for and then some. Skullcandy are very good for as cheap as they are. Their higher end stuff is not crazy great but they are certainly worth the price over say Philips.

I'd rather have another Sennheiser PX100 or PX200. Amazon has the PX200 for $29 right now.
