Sling has recently updated their software for Mac, still no HD for OSX though.

HS doesn't make sense. I got the original SD version and the compression is crappy (although watchable) over the 100mbit LAN. How the hell can this thing do HD in any way that matters? I guess the fact that it has an ATSC tuner and maybe HD inputs is what makes it better.

#6 is right;and Picture quality is dependent on network speed.

ATSC standard is 9GB per hour. That often includes null packets put in just to meet the standard. Even before I upgraded to gigabit, I could easily transfer 9GB in less than 20 minutes on my 100mbit LAN. So technically this should be feasible.

I keep picturing Billy Bob Thornton saying, "Some people call it a Kaiser Box but I call it a Slingbox" .

I've always wanted a slingbox, but I doubt the HD version will work well.
