It happened to me and a friend. I know slingbox shut down their forums because of all the complaints. They didn't want people seeing all the problems.

I just got tired of all the limitations Sling puts on their devices.
After my SB Pro began to malfunction I decided to jump ship and got myself a Hava Platinum HD. Much, much happier. Can have more than 1 viewer. Can record and burn to DVD. Way easier to set up. Mobile player app is free, Slings is $30.
Best of all, it's cheaper.
