Buy.com has the new Slingbox SOLO SB260-100 for $130 with free shipping. It has component video HD inputs, so that you can take a barely acceptable version of your home viewing experience with you on the road. Check out this review for more in-depth info. [BizRate]

I have a slingbox (A slingbox AV) I got from woot a year ago for $75. I think you can still get a better deal on a slingbox AV than a SOLO. Depending on your needs, it may be just as good. Though I do like the SOLO's pass-thru outputs.

Great invention. We use one for my nephew while at college. The price is average. If you have kids in living in dorms it's great idea.

#2, if you have kids living in a dorm, you might want them to study instead.

We have a Slingbox AV hooked up to a ReplayTV DVR and it works like a champ. Gives me a TV signal and recorded programming anywhere I have the web. That said, it works best on the home network. If you plan to view off-site make sure you have decent upload speed with your Broadband carrier. Otherwise you'll be waiting a bit for it to load. The latest Sling software allows for buffering and really smooths out the playback.
