Does it support CableCARD? No? I don't see the point anymore since the cable companies are scrambling all channels that aren't free OTA anyway.

I don't see the benefit of owning this Slingbox.

#1, I'm not sure about CableCards... but from what I understand, you can connect your video device, such as a cable box to the slingbox via composite cable or S-video. and it has a little IR remote cable to point at your cable box IR port to change channels. So basically it sees what you will see on Tv... how is scrambling going to effect the slingbox? remember, this model dosen't have a TV tuner build in.

#2, you can remotely watch your TV from anywhere, like in college dorm room, or vacation home.

I've said this before. This company has gone downhill since they were bought out.

They did a firmware upgrade and many users cannot connect anymore. Check their own forums.

I'm down to one out of three working and I won't upgrade the firmware in that one.

#3 is correct. I can control my Tivo HD with this device. It uses cable cards. I can watch TV on my computer and phone while away from home. I can also use it to control my Tivo to record a program that i forgot to record before I left home. However, Tivo also offers this functionality on their website.

It has it's purpose but it's not for everyone.
