What is the difference between the two #1? Is one better than the other?

The "S" models are usually the entry level Sony TV's. The V's and W's have more features. Go to Sonystyle.com to check them out.

v4100 and s5100 are simular since v4100 is a last year model and s5100 is the product line for 2009 which has higher contrast ratio.

Decent price for a 40in. Bought 32in (sharp) for about the same price end of last year - now 32in seems too small (esp for tv, computer use is ok).

I have this model and really enjoy it. Easily worth the purchase at $699.

Looks like it's only 60hz. Wake me up when there is a 120hz for 700.
