So how does a warranty (extended or otherwise) work if Circuit City goes out of business?

They'll refer you to 3rd party or you're SOL.
A CC extended warranty purchased now will likely be worth 0 in bankr. Sony warranty will still stand.

I bought this one at CC yestoday. It is great! I forgot to take my birthday coupon (10$ off over 100) but they gave me this discount anyway, plus matched price with walmart(925$) 40" S series(what is not great as V) finaly became 915+TAX. The quality is great what can I say kids and wife are happy!
Closing 175 stores. Our local store has items left and they are higher than BBuy's prices and they are advertising 40-60% off.
#2, I was able to pick up a 46" W-series locally for $1399 the Saturday after thanksgiving. Very decent TV.
