Upscaling is great and this is a reliable player out of the box that has already received firmware upgrades from Sony. #1, please double check if you are really interested in buying because I think one of these firmware upgrades gives it HDMI v3.

The player is $200 at sonystyle after a $100 credit for signing up for their credit card:

This player was 199 on Amazon for weeks and just went up to 229 a couple of days ago. Anybody that thinks this is a deal is an rodeo cowboy.

yo this player cant do baconnaise with DTS-MA so unless it's dolby trueHD or PCM (getting rare), you are SOL for lossless sound.

Sony is sniffing glue. They gotta start coming way down in price cause nobody is buyin blu-ray crap. I can barely tell the difference between BR and upscaled DVD on high quality gear.

Toshiba is laughing. They got paid to leave a market that was about to dry up.

"Upscaling is great" man that is rich! A BlewRay player with great upscaling... what'll they think of next, a VCR with an awesome deinterlacer?

And that Sorny credit card is just oh so tempting.. do they ship it with a rootkit to hack your credit info?

Did anyone order the samsung BD-P1500 from radioshack and got them to ship? Mine still says "Item(s) located in stock", I don't think they will ever ship them. Could be a price mistake.
