#17 m0f0 the homo, you're truly an rodeo cowboy. In order to pick up the $99 player from Walmart, I had to go to the store at 7 in the morning. When I got mine, there were only 5 players left. Walmart limits one per customer, so I had to drive 15 miles to another store to pick up a second one.

I understand time is cheap for you because you have no jobs and all you do is surf online in your grandmother's basement. But it took me almost 2 hours to get two $99 hd players from 2 different walmarts and I still made it to work on time.

Yes, I invested a lot but I don't expect you to understand.

Hah! Your so-called job at McDonalds flipping burgers must not pay you very well if you think that $198 is "a lot" to invest. I remain suitably amused. *smirk*

Shut a burp up m0f0 the f@g. If he makes $150 an hour, would $300 worth of time be considered a decent investment?

How many HD dvd's do you own already, horndoggy1l?

Eh, we bought a 40GB PS3 for $400 back before the price drop, it upconverts normal DVDs, has backwards compatibility, and since Blockbuster is going strictly with Blu-Ray, it seemed like a good idea. The player will continue to drop in price... plus, Blu-Ray has more studios and better quality 3rd parties supporting it. But I'm still going to cross my fingers and hope that all these Blu-Ray movies don't end up as coasters, as #10 postulates. Planet Earth was a little too expensive!

Walmart had a better deal about three weeks ago, with $249, no rebate, 5 instant movies and 5 mail-in movies.

Wait, you mean three weeks ago, as on Black Friday? For like, one day?

Player's slow as hell - takes about a minute to start up before you can even insert a disc, then takes another minute (or two, for BD-J heavy discs) before the disc gets to the menu. The PS3 supposedly trumps all of the standalone players in this regard.

F*ck both formats. I hope they both fail which they will when people realize that high speed internet and cheap hard drives make this whole thing look ridiculous. Some just like being sodomized by the man..

He said he made it to work on time so he didn't lose any money - presuming he's some type of non-salaried, hourly employee pig.
