#2 sounds like a media issue not a player issue.

The last Sony product I bought was the original Playstation. Due to the fact that they installed root kits on the computers of their own customers, I will not be supporting them ever again. They haven't even apologized for that!

      sincerely,

Is the format war over? They say it was porn that won the war for VHS over BetaMax since the supporters of BetaMax would not sell their product to pornographers. What will be the deciding factor for Blu-Ray vs HD-DVD? Quite honestly I am not sure I'd want to see a porno in HD...ever see what an actor really looks like on HD?

The price is very close to PS3 40GB from Sony Style (with Sony Credit Card). I have good experience in using PS3 to play movies. I wonder what points this BD player can do that PS3 can't. I'd go for PS3 with no hesitation. (I actually went for PS3 80GB and I am very happy with my decision. I'm still waiting for the 5 BD movies though.)

For the format war, I don't think it's over yet. I'm leaning toward BD and I don't want to wait. I might have died before the war ends. I hope both formats win.

#2/#11, Don't pay any attention to #1. S/he is just a mindless rodeo cowboy posting the same comment in 12 different threads.

#12, yes, you can definitely tell I'm no fan of Sony. What is wrong with that? I happen to think they are a horrible company.

And that's why I'm staying on the sideline and sticking with standard definition.
