Buy a cheap PC and stream to your TV directly from it.
Forget blu-ray altogether.
Most streaming video formats offer software for the PC, many via a browser.

Agree with #3, plus if you wanted to add BR player (or even burner capabilities) they're typically cheaper for an internal drive vs stand alone player.

I disagree with #3. IMO internet connected PCs are high maintenance compared to a set top player. They require an endless series of updates (anti-virus, security patches for OS and apps, reboots, etc.) No thanks.
