Sony has the refurbished Sony BDP-S580 3D Wi-Fi Blu-ray Player for $140 - $50 off in cart [Exp 1/14] = $90 with free shipping. Features Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoding, BRAVIA Internet Video streaming, built-in WiFi, and quick start and load times.
Got one of these new last month for $108. Amazon has it now for $128. I'm happy with it so far. This is my first blu-ray player. Movies look good. The sound is better than my old player. The apps, Netflix works nice. Not sure about buying it refurbed. Sony also adds tax.
Have 2 of these. Sony and Panasonic are the only brands that have all the major streaming apps Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime. I recommend if you get one you get all the available options its always better to have more than not enough. It was a lifesaver when my wife took her Chemistry class we used it to stream videos off of Youtube and it streams perfectly. Sony is a little cheaper than Panasonic but my one complaint with Sony in general is they are a little too finicky and sometimes you won't be able to view a movie, I think it's due to their strict DRM. Panasonic seems to be better on this front but you tend to be able to get a Sony unit a little cheaper.
There is no $50 off. Discount didn't show up in cart, and I called them and they said discount didn't exist. Too bad because was gonna buy it despite the luke-warm reviews.
Speaking of which, Ben's moderator/coder, you guys need to add a "Deal not functioning" button on the page so users can report bad deals. If you get enough people pressing it, would indicate deal is either bad or the poster didn't explain how to get deal well enough. Just a thought.
