Sony's product quality has gone way down in my opinion. I bought a Sony Blu-ray (it wasn't the 3D version) from Costco and I had to take it back. It would take close to 3 minutes just to "boot up" when you first turned it on. Then the menus were difficult to navigate because there was a delay from when you hit the button to when it changed on the screen. I returned it for a cheaper LG and it's much faster, cleaner and had the same features (plus it offered wireless internet access).
