My friend has this in his 2 bedroom condo. The high's & mid's sound really good for the size and the sub is decent but cannot be cranked up high like the bigger ones. However, I would still give this an 8 out of 10 and recommend this over BOSE, since they cost over 3 times as much.

I bought this sucker a long while back -- paid 350 for it. The speakers that came with the box were....okay. Not amazing. Nothing special. But okay. After a month or so, I decided to replace all the speakers with a polk center channel, two floor standing speakers, and two bookshelves. I have no problem with the combined receiver subwoofer that this unit comes with. I would like to, however, upgrade eventually to a 7.1 receiver + more powerful subwoofer.

Long story short: decent deal for an intro system.
