what's the difference between this and an XBR?
EDIT: thanks all for the info.
There are S,V,W,Z and XBR models. You can tell by looking at the product code e KDL40S4100 or KDL52W4100 (see the 'S' or the 'W'?) S is the cheapest and XBR is the most expensive. Good luck finding these 5 TV's next to each other in the store to actually discern what the visual difference is between them.
We have the V series 46" that we purchased at Costco and are happy with it. I think the W series has another HDMI input.
XBR has sony's higher end video processor. I dont know that you can tell the diffrence though. The new XBR8 however has the LED backlight similar to the samsung 950 series.

imo sony has great picture but high repair rate
