Sony has the refurbished Sony Component Home Theater System HT-CT100 for $240 - $70 off with coupon code SONYHTCT10070 + $0 shipping = $170 shipped. This amazing system brings simplicity and performance together by pairing a center speaker and subwoofer to create a surround sound experience in a compact package.
Yes #2. Radioshack has them. RCA (2 male ends) to a 3.5mm female stereo jack. Your speakers must be amplified, and your TV has to have audio out jacks. If the TV has a jack out for a set of headfones, you can plug right into it with no other adapters needed.
#1, you must not pay attention to the electronics market - almost all of the major speaker manufacturers now make sound bar products, not just Sony.
#4, no baconnaise. Surround sound occurs when the speakers surround the listener. These soundbars generate sound fields which provide the listener with pseudo-surround sound in a small area - hence the "surround experience" term.
The point of these soundbars is for people who have no room for surround sound systems but want something more than a simple 2.1 system. Whether they work or not is subjective, however I have listened to the Polk version of this soundbar and was impressed with the quality.
#2, keep in mind that you can only use a 2.0 or 2.1 system with your TV - your 5.1 surround system will not work.
Gees #6. Talk about paying attention. Did you even bother to read the ad? My post had nothing to do with soundbars or other manufacturers. The point I was trying to make (and that you obviously missed by a mile) was they are advertising this as a H/T surround setup. Any nitwit (even a person just like yourself) knows that it takes more than 1 speaker and a sub to make a H/T system. I was talking about surround sound out of a magical front speaker. Thanks for your lenghty post. I'm sure everyone enjoyed it. Happy Holidays
#7, shut the burp up. Your snide ignorance bleeds through every post you make, and frankly it's annoying.
The sound bar doesn't contain 1 speaker. The multiple speakers inside the bar are designed to generate sound fields around the listener...something that a 2.1 system cannot do. This system is somewhere in-between a true surround system and a simple 2.1 system. You fail. Go back to school before you try to insult me, you ignorant douchebag.
Thanks for your ignorant comments. I'm sure everyone enjoyed your lack of knowledge to be enlightening when I explained how the multi-speaker system works (above.)
In case you missed it - this isn't just 1 speaker, and Sony didn't jump on the Bose "bandwagon" because Bose doesn't claim anything "magical" about their speakers. They're just overpriced.
Sony has jumped on the Bose magical sound wagon. Surround sound from 1 front speaker and a sub. Sure, I buy that.
Is there anyway to connect a PC speaker system to a TV? Do they have an adapter for RCA to 3.5mm?

FYI
NOT real surround sound and NO low bass. Buy much cheaper 2.1 Logitech ones.
No sony allowed here.

Every time I see this deal on Sony's website, they're out of stock.

PS..."headphones" is spelled with a P, not an F.
