Ben - we understand that you have whored youself out to Abes of Maine, but you really should add a disclaimer for doing business with these bait-and-switch New Jersey ass-holes.
Seems like a hit or miss with this company. Me personally, I've experienced great service from them. I bought a camera, but I later returned it with no hassle.
I bought a Canon HF100 from them. They did the "courtesy call" thing with the upsells, but it was low-key and non-patronizing. Overall, good experience.
I've bought dozens from them, with no bait and switch, no upsells, etc. Just placed orders and product sent without hassle.
bullshit.
I've ordered from these jackasses, and they used upsell, scare tactics on both occasions (if you don't get the premium shipping, we can't guarantee the safe delivery of your product) and etc.
any sort of upsell is unacceptable. to further lie about the way you ship things is another unacceptable business practice.
further - their prices aren't all that great... I've often found the same deals from better, no hassle sites, like amazon and B&H
can anyone recommend other HD camcorders that aren't as expensive?
i've never bought anything from them but i believe they use bait-switch. this is common in Crooklyn, but i guess jersey is catching up. disgusting. that's why i prefer reputable resellers like amazon, egg, buy.
