This is a mail in rebate offer.
Where do you even see the rebate offer. What part of $64.99 and $35 instant coupon don't you understand. Use your brain before posting.
Is $30 (assuming the total is at least $50 for free S&H) a good deal for a 8GB Flash Drive, or is it the Sony thing again?
newegg has had Corsair 8GB USB drives for $20 AR, free shipping.
I don't trust any of the usb drives that don't advertise read and write speeds, 8 gigs is a lot of info to transfer at 5mb/s or 1.
Still refuse to buy Sony branded products.
#3, if you don't care about speed or brand, there have been a few 8gb flash drives for ~$20 shipped, without rebates. Keep checking.
Don't forget the 51% chance of a free stealth rootkit. I do not understand why anyone would trust Sony after they put a rootkit on their drives and music cds, withdrew the kits & offered a patch after public uproar, but the patch only revealed previous stealth files and then installed NEW uninstallable software. Unbelievable.

Screw you Sony.
cause what happened years ago is really relevant today. l-o-l
It is. I won't buy Sony. You can't convince me that their corporate culture has changed. They continue to "innovate" in anti-piracy technologies.
#9 - Armed with knowledge, you are free to buy Sony or not. I would sincerely like to know what email list they force you to join to use the product you bought (like they did so you could get the rootkit removal toolkit). Or what other limitations they put on your use of something bought without notice. This may not bother you. But they have lost me as a customer, and if folks would shun such corporate actors, we wouldn't have Sony passing out rootkits. So, thank you for embracing corporate overreaching.
