I'm in the same boat as bclinton. I have this monitor hooked up to my PC. Figure that the issues they had with these monitors when they were first produced have been worked out.
This does seem like a cool monitor at a fine price point, but it's missing one video input that would make it great.
It's a 120hz monitor, that can deliver 60hz to each eye. (I think the 240hz is the smoothing factor)
But if you're using 2D mode, you should be able to send 120hz signal, and that can't fit over HDMI. This monitor needs a dual-link DVI port. I have a ViewSonic V3D245, and running in 2D mode at 120hz, it's incredibly smooth. When I drag windows around the desktop, I can read them as they are moving! FPS and Starcraft are way more smooth and look great. 120hz for the win.
With no dual-link DVI port, you can't send a 120hz signal from your computer! Even though the monitor could display super-smooth 120hz computer signal, it doesn't have the input to accept it!
#3 And how exactly do you know this is a 120hz monitor? For $180? No, it's not. It's interpolating/smoothing 60Hz to 120Hz, and the 240Hz only becomes a factor with split-screen.
This has a VA panel. You show me a VA 120Hz monitor and I'll sell you a duck. Or something like that.
That's great that you have a 120Hz monitor, but please don't spread FUD.
Hah just bought this a week ago with Sony Reward points and just ordered another one with this deal. Very nice monitor, I dont game above 1080p (limited with my geforce 280gtx), but what pushed me to buy another one was the 3d movie i watched last night. IT was a low quality Thor 3d rip but looked amazing in 3d. Did side by side 3d mode and it looked just as good as my main 3d tv. Had to play with the settings to get it look right with Win8 but the driver auto loaded with the nivida drivers i downloaded. Used a 3rd party side by side 3d app and everything works. Overall very happy, and i wouldnt be ordering a 2nd one to replace my 2nd monitor if i wasnt. Only negative thing is the frame is rather large because of the speakers, so i am going to have to overlap one of the two monitors. I dont think i will be able to stretch 3d movies to both montiors, but o well. O ya the VESA mount on the back of the one i received didnt exist, and there are a lot of posts out there of people making home made mounts to work with Sony's custom VESA, but looks like sony doesnt include any mounting on the new ones.
So far as I know you can't have an active 3d monitor without it being 120hz. (Unless you just get 30hz per eye, which sounds terrible for gaming)
This means that it can display 120hz, and synchronizes with the glasses to show 60hz to your left eye and 60hz to your right. With the special SimulView technology, the two glasses split that up, and player 1 gets 60hz and player 2 gets the other 60hz.
You seem to be arguing is that this is the ONLY 3D monitor in the world using passive 60hz technology that comes with active stutter glasses, and I don't believe that. I was just saying that it's sad to have a 120hz monitor that can't accept a 120hz signal from a computer (this requires a Dual-Link DVI port).
Either way, I could be wrong. If you're going to call me a liar who is spreading fear, please include a link that says this monitor is 60hz.
One plus this monitor has: I don't think any other monitor can do SimulView. Prospective buyers, do your research, avoid disappointment!
Six months ago this was $499. It's actually a very good monitor. I have a PC hooked up to one and the picture is great.

Cool find! Didn't even know a PS specific monitor existed until I saw this!

Hi #5,
Since this monitor is 3D: It will either be Passive (60hz with polarized glasses) or Active (120hz).
Since the glasses require charging, it's Active and therefore can display 120 frames per second. (also mentioned here: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/df-hardware-playstation-3d-display-review )
Also here: http://teamlegacy.net/topic/8053-are-all-120hz-monitors-3d/ contains the quote: "all 3D monitors have to support 120Hz in order to work."
